Iran is willing to reinitiate nuclear talks with Washington provided that it is approached with "respect" and "honor", Tehran's top diplomat has stated.

The Iranian diplomat said exclusively dialogue produced results, and disclosed new appeals had come from mediators to restart talks with the Trump administration. He said Iran possessed no unreported enrichment locations, and Tehran was not yet able to authorize the global atomic watchdog to inspect bombed nuclear sites for security reasons.

Navigating a Complex Route

The foreign minister is treading a challenging route since Iran does not want appear to be operating from a stance of weakness, and he consistently maintained that Iran had emerged more powerful in military terms and emotionally from the Israeli-US attack on its nuclear sites in June.

He was speaking at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to enrich uranium within its borders that it will never give up" – the primary cause of the impasse in the earlier negotiations.

Earlier Negotiations Abruptly Ended

The prior phases of negotiations between the US and Iran were brought to an abrupt and acrimonious termination on 12 June when Israel, with Washington's assistance, targeted Iranian nuclear sites in a two-week conflict that concluded with Donald Trump asserting the sites had been obliterated. Subsequently, Western states employed their privilege to reimpose UN-wide sanctions, but Iran insists they have not had a substantial consequence.

Perfect Agreement Offered

Tehran representatives claimed they felt they had attained a "magic solution" to the nuclear fuel concern in earlier negotiations, when it was agreed an Iran-based consortium with Washington's engagement could refine atomic fuel. The two nations would have been able to assert triumph since home-based processing would have remained and the US could be confident that Iran's nuclear programme was exclusively peaceful.

It had not been agreed in the negotiations that Washington's technical specialists could function inside Iran, but that was a logical implication of the partnership suggestion. Representatives stated three times they had secured an understanding with Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff only for the arrangement to collapse due to "spoilers in Washington".

Existing Situation

The Iran's state department has been accused of inactivity in the face of Trump's direct instinctive approach, but Iran says dialogue is not part of a show.

In his remarks to the forum, designed to depict the US as a dominant force that exploits the concept of international law, the foreign minister stated the 12-day war revealed the conflict could not be settled by military means. He stated the assaults began with a US demand for an total Iran submission and concluded with an complete request for a truce.

In what is characterized by Tehran representatives as the battle of restoration and reconstruction, Araghchi claimed he was assured Iran's defence capabilities "are much stronger than prior to 13 or 14 June of this year. Our entire military infrastructure have been restored. We acquired many lessons from this engagement; we have identified our personal limitations and the weaknesses of the adversary."

He continued: "We successfully passed this engagement. Our nuclear technology, which they planned to obliterate, remains in place. The sites and equipment, if damaged, will be restored; what is important is the determination of the nation of Iran and then the unity of the country that they targeted, but did not succeed to shatter. The citizens of Tehran have grown more resilient, more cohesive, and more endorsing of the government and the nation in the face of this assault."
