From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, demons, and sinister influences growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear out of place, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing started the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, above the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as important members in the influential clan could enable the party enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character swore a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
From the latest episode’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to assemble the Seekers and Schemers groups.
Audiences can expect discovering which characters will be where in the story’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on October 24.
